AXIS Transparency

Clear boundaries for scientific infrastructure.

AXIS records declared metadata, evidence, provenance and integrity signals. It does not certify scientific merit, originality, clinical validity, authorship ownership, peer-review outcome or permanent preservation unless explicitly stated in a specific record.

Verification boundary

What AXIS does not certify.

Scientific merit AXIS does not determine whether a scientific claim is correct, important, novel or clinically valid.

Peer review AXIS does not replace journal peer review, editorial judgment or manuscript acceptance.

Ownership AXIS records declared metadata and evidence. It does not transfer intellectual property or prove legal ownership.

Permanent preservation AXIS may record preservation status, but it does not claim permanent preservation unless a specific preservation arrangement is declared.

Automatic DOI DOI preparation depends on object type, metadata readiness, eligibility and registration pathway. No DOI is automatic.

Operational status

What exists now.

Active Registry Public registry routes are online and resolving.

Active Passport P01 The first public Passport has validation, PDF, JSON and evidence package routes.

Active Intake Scope-review requests are stored in the operator queue.

Pilot Map Relationship mapping is available as a pilot view and expands only with declared relations.

Editorial boundary

Editorial independence remains separate.

AXIS may support open-science infrastructure, but its operational services must not influence editorial decisions. Manuscripts, reviews, acceptance, rejection, corrections and publication decisions remain governed by the policies of each journal or institution.

No pay-to-publish AXIS services cannot be sold as article acceptance, publication priority or editorial advantage.

No hidden endorsement A Passport records evidence and identity. It is not an endorsement of scientific quality.

No shortcut Authors, institutions or assets receiving AXIS services do not receive preferential editorial treatment.

Transparency is part of the infrastructure.

AXIS must remain useful precisely because its claims are limited. Evidence is recorded. Boundaries are declared. Certification is never implied.
