Before a record, AXIS defines the boundary.
Scope review determines whether a scientific asset can enter an AXIS workflow, what evidence is required, what can be publicly validated and what must remain outside the record.
Purpose
What scope review decides.
Eligibility
Whether the submitted object fits an AXIS service pathway such as Passport Core, Passport Integrity, Institutional Pilot or Custom Integration.
Evidence readiness
Whether the object has enough metadata, files, rights statements and provenance context to support a credible record.
Public boundary
Which statements can be public, which must be limited, and which cannot be claimed by AXIS.
Operational pathway
Whether the request should proceed to quotation, evidence preparation, Passport workflow or technical integration.

Published or prepared scientific manuscripts with identifiable metadata and provenance.

Research software, digital tools, models or technical files requiring traceable validation records.
What to prepare
A request should arrive with evidence.
Object description
Title, type, version, creators, institution and intended use.
Files or references
Submitted files, public URLs, manuscript PDFs, datasets, protocols, software packages or related evidence.
Rights statement
Declaration of who can submit the object and whether public metadata or files may be displayed.
Requested service
Passport Core, Passport Integrity, Institutional Pilot or Custom Integration.
Limits
What scope review does not promise.
No automatic acceptance
A request may be declined, limited, deferred or redirected if evidence is insufficient.
No automatic DOI
DOI readiness depends on eligibility, metadata quality and registration pathway.
No scientific merit certification
AXIS does not certify that a claim is true, novel, clinically valid or editorially accepted.
No editorial influence
AXIS services do not affect journal submission, review, acceptance or publication priority.
